Max takes the long jump gold medal at the Flemish indoor Championships in his age category (U18)
A golden comeback for Max at the Flemish Indoor U18 Championships in Ghent!
Exactly one year after a serious knee injury at the same venue, Max returned to competition with something to prove. Triple jump was still too taxing during recovery, so all focus shifted to long jump — and with great success: a personal best of 6.61 meters secured him the gold, with a comfortable lead over the rest of the field.

“A year ago, I broke my knee during long jump here, and it’s been a long road to recovery. That’s why I felt I had something to set right today. I was hoping for a podium finish but kept my expectations realistic. My first jump felt great and gave me the adrenaline to push even further. My coach said 6.60 was possible — actually achieving it makes me really happy. My fourth jump was invalid, but I’m pretty sure there was more in it. That gives me confidence for what’s next.” — Max
Strong words and a strong result — welcome back, Max!
