The long jump was excitingly close, with athlete Ugo Meecko and Max being separated by just a centimeter until the final jump. With everything on the line, Max delivered an impressive 7m10, an amazing personal best to bring home gold. This result places Max in 21st position of all time in the Belgian U18, confirming his exciting future.

Later that day Max and Ugo squared off again to see who would take home gold for the triple jump. After two no jumps Ugo sadly withdrew from the competition leaving Max to jump for gold. With the winning distance of 13m33 he performed under his personal best of 13.75, but still safely secured first place.

“It feels fantastic to win my first Belgian titles and to do it with a jump over seven meters,” said Schymkowitz with satisfaction. “This double gold gives me a lot of confidence for the next steps.”

Beyond the Board are proud to announce Max’s second double gold, winning first place in both disciplines at both the Flemish and Belgium championships.
