A Season of Gold (and some silver): Beyond the Board Athletes Shine in 2025
The 2025 season has been one to remember for Beyond the Board.
Our athletes dominated the national scene and made their mark internationally, showing that our jumpers are ready to compete with the best.
Across all age categories, our team collected an impressive haul of medals, including nearly every possible gold medal at the Belgian Championships in long jump and triple jump. The consistency, dedication and team spirit across the group, from youth to senior level, highlight the strength of the Beyond the Board structure led by head coach Michel Boels.
Among the many standout performances:
🏅 Ilona Masson made her Diamond League debut at the Memorial Van Damme in Brussels and competed at her first World Championships in Tokyo, where she narrowly missed a place in the final. Both experiences mark major milestones in her development and underline her growing international potential.
🏅 Max Schymkowitz (U18) captured double gold in the long jump and triple jump — continuing to establish himself as one of the brightest young talents in Belgian athletics.
🏅 Lucca Goossens (U20) added another series of titles in triple jump - both at the U20 and the senior levels, Flemish and Belgian, confirming his position as the dominant force.
🏅 Florence Amon took a silver in the indoor season, but has been battling a nasty injury since, showcasing once again her resilience and determination.
Together, our athletes brought home a total of 12 gold and 4 silver medals in 2025, the best collective result to date for Beyond the Board.
✨ These achievements demonstrate the power of a clear structure, expert coaching and shared ambition. From national titles to international arenas, Beyond the Board continues to build the bridge between Belgian talent and the global stage.
